Kereta Peti Sabun by Student Undergraduate Program in Design Product, ITB
The Undergraduate Program in Product Design at the Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) achieved a significant milestone as their soapbox car project, entered in the "Fun Race" category, was successfully launched at Kereta Peti Sabun competition 2023 last weekend. The soapbox car, a collaborative effort by students from the Undergraduate Program in Product Design, is a testament to their creativity, innovation, and technical skills. The car's construction features a combination of materials, including aluminum plate, 3D printed PLA, and iron pipe, highlighting the students' proficiency in utilizing modern manufacturing techniques and materials.
A notable aspect of the project is the attention to detail, as evidenced by the seat padding, which was meticulously crafted by Nomade Leather Works. This collaboration added a touch of craftsmanship and luxury to the car, showcasing the students' ability to integrate diverse elements into their design. The entire design and development process for the soapbox car spanned approximately two months, during which the students demonstrated their dedication and perseverance in bringing their vision to life.
The successful launch of the car at the Kereta Peti Sabun competition 2023 is a testament to their hard work and commitment to excellence. The soapbox car project exemplifies FSRD ITB's commitment to providing students with opportunities to apply their skills in real-world scenarios, fostering creativity, innovation, and collaboration within the field of product design.
