An undergraduate student in Textile Craft, Faculty of Arts and Design (FSRD), Bandung Institute of Technology, Kayla Thalusya Sandhiasti, got a chance to be one of Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) 2022
She will be studying at Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, for about six months. She will start the study in the first week of October, and she will arrive in Italy by the end of September. She will finish this program on February nest year.
This program is also followed by other 10 FSRD students who come from different majors. Kayla is the only awardee from the Textile Craft Major.
She applied for the IISMA program last year but she did not get through the selection process. This year she reapply. There are three selection processes such as the document selection process; test about diversity, and interview process. She said that the most challenging part is answering the short essay because she has to put what she wants to say with a limited word count. Those short paragraphs can undoubtedly determine whether she is eligible to become an awardee. Academic Transcript and English Proficiency Test also plays a significant role in the selection process.
“I am grateful to have become one of the IISMA Awardees 2022. I have always dreamed about studying abroad. I hope to use this opportunity to enhance my skills and learn a bunch of new things while experiencing living abroad alone for the first time. I also hope the global knowledge and thoughts I have gained can be helpful in my major.”, she said.
