Rexha Septine Faril Nanda, a student from the Faculty of Art and Design, ITB participated in the NAWA

Rexha Septine Faril Nanda, a student from the Faculty of Art and Design, ITB participated in the NAWA competition which was held from February 16 to March 20, 2022. The competition was held online and the winner was announced on June 1, 2022. The awarding ceremony was held at the Pos Bloc Jakarta Building on July 4, 2022. There were 142 applicants (master’s and doctoral students) from various universities in Indonesia and abroad who submit their work to NAWA 2022 competition.

Rexha’s work was made based on her thesis proposal that has been prepared for her master’s degree. The process of topic selection, observation, and writing cannot be separated from her interest as a researcher as well as guidance from lecturers during her study at FSRD ITB. The proposal was then contested in this competition. It is hoped that the results of her work will not only become a thesis that is considered good but also can give a contribution, both in the academic field and in the real world.

“I hope researchers and academics in the field of design will not stop exploring and discovering topics related to the culture of Nusantara so that it will be sustainable in the future. Don’t let other countries admit it, our culture needs a role and thought in design to be more advanced, said Rexha Septine Faril Nanda”.
