Visual Communication Design Study Program FSRD ITB Celebrates 50 Years of Success
The Visual Communication Design Study Program (DKV), Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD) Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) commemorates its 50th anniversary with a series of special events entitled #5dekadeDKVITB on Thursday, September 28 —Sunday, October 1, 2023 at the ITB Ganesha Campus, Jl. Ganesha 10 Bandung.
#5decadeDKVITB aims to celebrate half a century of extraordinary achievements, innovation, and dedication from the academic community of the Visual Communication Design Study Program FSRD ITB. The Visual Communication Design Study Program FSRD ITB was founded in 1972 and this program has become one of the leaders in Visual Communication Design education in Indonesia.
The series of events included various activities reflecting the vision of “DKV for Greater Indonesia” :
- Kinarya Immersiva, International Light Festival: A stunning interactive art experience
- Installation Room, Immersive Room, and Video Mapping: Exhibition of student and alumni work
- #KIBAbalikKampus is an Exhibition of Children’s Book Illustration Class Work
- Adicita 5 Dekade: DKV Study Program archive exhibition
- Trajectstory is an Exhibition of Student Collaborative Works
- Talkshow “DKV for a Greater Indonesia” is a discussion with design industry experts
- Family Reunion Gathering is a reunion event and fun family activities
- Visual Cultural Night & Lifetime Achievement, awards for outstanding lecturers and alumni
The Craft Bazaar and Culinary Stand providing various foods and crafts also become the supporting events.
This event is a collaboration among students, lecturers, and alumni of the DKV FSRD ITB as well as support from various parties including the Directorate of Film, Music and New Media, Directorate General of Culture, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology.
Dr. Andryanto Rikrik Kusmara, S.Sn., M.Sn., Dean of FSRD ITB, said, “We hope that this event can bring awareness about the importance and strategic position of DKV education at this time amid very significant developments. Education and industry must work together to create a better life.”
Triyadi Guntur as Chair of the #5dekadeDKVITB Activity Committee, added, “We try to give the best we can, with all limitations. A good program is a program that is implemented.” It is hoped that this event will show the achievements of the DKV FSRD ITB for half a century and inspire the development of new media in various activities involving the role of DKV FSRD ITB.
