Evolutional Creativity by Eisuke Tachikawa, CEO of NOSIGNER
Dialog Design is back. On Friday, March 17, 2023, Dialog Design was held with the theme “Evolutional Creativity” at the Design Center FSRD ITB with many participants from students of ITB, students of Product Design FSRD ITB, lecturers, the general public, and experts. Dialog Design was held again after more than 2 years of hiatus due to the pandemic.
The speaker for this Dialog Design episode is Eisuke Tachikawa who is a design strategist whose profession goes beyond cross-disciplinary product design, graphic design, and architecture. He continues to work on designing alternative solutions for a better life in the future. He won more than 100 awards worldwide including the Good Design Gold Award (Japan) and the DFA Design for Asia Grand Award (Hong Kong). He has also been a judge for the Good Design Award, DIA (Design Intelligence Award), DFAA (Design for Asia Award), and WAF (World Architecture Festival).
Eisuke Tachikawa is the CEO of NOSIGNER, a design firm that focuses on social change and future-oriented projects, and is the President of JIDA (Japan Industrial Design Association). He also holds significant positions in the academic field, including visiting professor at Kanazawa College of Art, and Governing Board Member at Kirirom Institute of Technology, Cambodia. Some of his key projects include OLIVE, Tokyo Bousai, PANDAID, YAMAMOTOYAMA, Yokohama DeNA BayStars, YOXO (Yokohama, Japan). He also was the initiator of the basic concept for the Japan Pavilion at the Osaka Kansai Expo 2025.
On this occasion, Tachikawa said that this episode of Dialog Design advocates Evolutional Creativity, which is about how the essence of creativity in design resembles the evolutionary process of living organisms.
