National Coordination Meeting for ASPRODI DKV Indonesia 2023
Faculty of Art and Design, ITB hosted the National Coordination Meeting for ASPRODI DKV Indonesia at CRCS Building, Institut Teknologi Bandung on July 12-14, 2023. On this occasion, around 80 Chairs of Visual Communication Design (DKV) study program and university representatives discussed Learning Achievements (LA) for students of Visual Communication Design.
Chairman of ASPRODI DKV, Dr. Intan Rizky Mutiaz, said that improvements in learning achievement are needed based on the current needs and conditions to answer future challenges regarding International Recognition, technological developments, link and match industries, cross-disciplinary research collaborations, equal distribution of Community Services, Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM ) program, downstreaming of academic work, as well other relevant challenges.
Taking this into account, ASPRODI DKV with the team processed the review and the formulation of contextualized draft and the purpose of learning objectives to address these challenges. Dr. Andryanto Rikrik Kusmara (Dean of FSRD ITB) and Yuke Sri Rahayu (Director of Culinary, Craft, Design, and Fashion, Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy) attended this event. At the opening, Yuke Sri Rahayu said that the subsector of DKV had generated Rp. 0.9 trillion for the 2021 National GDP.
One of National Assessor also explained the role of this study program and the importance of collaboration and multidisciplinary, especially related to downstream research, industrial collaboration, and MBKM. It is hoped that this National Coordination Meeting will give guidance to the chairs of DKV study programs throughout Indonesia in compiling curricula in their respective tertiary institutions by adding elements that are unique to each region. This activity ended with an appreciation night for ASPRODI DKV partners, especially professional associations related to animation, games, and graphic design for future collaborations in strengthening and developing the competence of DKV graduates.
